Innovation and Entrepreneurship
This course module is offered for the 4th year FOT students as a faculty course and the module is specially designed for students who wish to be entrepreneurs, starting up business ventures individually or a as groups. Also, the main focus of this course is to shape the attitude of students to be entrepreneurs. It encourages Technology students to explore their hidden capabilities and reach to their dream of being an entrepreneur. The courage, path, opportunities and out of box thinking required to be an entrepreneur is trained in this module.
The module consists of two parts. In the first part of the module, innovation management concepts, dynamics of ideation and creativity, and paradigms of innovation are discussed. During the second half of the module, concepts of entrepreneurship are discussed.
After successfully completion of this course module, the students will be able to understand what the creative and innovative ideas for the opportunities are and how to select the innovative business idea among them that can be commercialized in order to make profits.
Finally, they will be able to prepare an effective business plan for the startup business or the innovative product/service in order to attract the investors for the business.- Teacher: Eshana Milan
